Rupkonwar Jyoti Prasad Agarwala was a noted Indian playwright, songwriter, poet, writer and film maker from Assam. He was considered as Assamese cultural icon, deeply revered for his creative vision and output and is popularly called the Rupkonwar of Assamese culture. He wrote many stories for children. He wrote more than 300 songs and gave music to most of them. He died on 17th January 1951.
